Tributary
A tribute to the One from whom all living water flows.

Generous individuals, giving sacrificially, to provide a beautiful, restful, serene place where missionaries on stateside assignment can rest, relax, and enjoy training in a place where they can experience a recommitment to the Lord and have an opportunity to reconnect as husband and wife and as a family.

After 4 years of looking at numerous properties in Arkansas, the 142 acre Tributary property in Searcy County, Arkansas was acquired in March of 2012 for the purpose stated above. This property was selected because of the unique existing cabins, beautiful views and excellent access to the Buffalo River National Parks, White River, numerous lakes and other natural scenic settings.

The property and improvements are owned by the Tributary Retreat & Training Center, Inc., a Texas Nonprofit Corporation which is classified as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and contributions to Tributary are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code.

Since the acquisition in 2012, volunteers have worked to make the cabins ready for occupancy by the missionaries beginning in 2014.

MISSION STATEMENT

TRIBUTARY RETREAT & TRAINING CENTER IS NON-DENOMINATIONAL AND EXISTS TO PROVIDE MISSIONARIES ON STATESIDE ASSIGNMENT AN AFFORDABLE PLACE TO RETREAT FOR REST, RENEWAL, TRAINING, RECOMMITMENT TO GOD AND RECONNECTION WITH FAMILY.

THE PASSION

In a world with a population of 7 billion, thousands of dedicated missionaries stand apart in their life giving efforts to make an eternal difference. These unselfish individuals traverse every segment of the globe and have signed on to the most worthy of causes – spreading the message of the salvation and hope that is available to all who place their trust in the Living God by accepting His Son, Jesus, as their personal Savior and the Lord of life.

The missionaries hold humanitarian jobs when in the field that brings quality of life to the communities in which they serve by meeting needs. Jobs such as teachers, medical services, and programs that increase food and crop production. They are involved in foster care programs, orphanages and adoption agencies, local disaster relief programs and many more.

All face the challenges of living in an International place – a country not their own. The pressing need to give so much of themselves to alleviate the needs of so many and to share the Good News of Jesus with them, can lead to an unintentional neglect of their commitment to God, their own families and to themselves.

There is a need to experience a recommitment to the Lord and a reconnection with their marriage and their family.

Pressures, stresses and dangers have become an inescapable part of their daily life challenge. There is no place to “get away from it all”.

Tributary will provide this opportunity!

Missionaries – Thousands will be eligible for the Tributary Retreat Center experience.

Families – Tributary will provide a short term family friendly venue for missionaries to rest, recharge and reconnect with family during their stateside experience. This serene retreat provides opportunities to revitalize the ministries of these individuals.

Kids – That’s Right! Missionaries are normal folks. They have kids. This Ozark Mountain retreat site is loaded with enjoyable opportunities for kids.

Training – With the meaningful training opportunities apart from the pressures of the ordinary can facilitate an environment to recharge their spiritual and informational batteries.

Etc. – This is the really exciting part. Who can even imagine the positive results that will come into focus as a result of the Tributary?

As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?
